My utility room was in dire need of some T.L.C. A room I am lucky to have but a room that gets little or no love. It is the room where I dump stuff. I have so many empty paint tins (can you imagine how many pots of half full tins of paint I have) full tins of paint I can’t bare to throw out. So I had them just stacked up in this room. I also have my collection of tote bags and shopping bags hanging on the back of the door. I usually have a pile of dirty washing on the counter tops.

Command hooks
https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/  got in touch to do a collaboration with them to reorganize my utility room . These wall hooks are amazing. So, I can hang up my mop, ironing board and brush leaving a little more floor space in my utility room. I painted an orange stripe along the wall where I have my command hooks. These command strips remove easily without leaving a mark on the wall.

Utility room before

I wanted to give this little room a pop of colour. I had previously painted the PVC door pale pink. I re -painted it orange. You can paint PVC. Once you use the correct primer and paint. I decided to paint the ceiling too. I used frog tape to create a cool design on the ceiling.

I painted an orange stripe where I hung my hooks just to make a feature in the room and match up with the door and ceiling. The utility letters on the door are available on my website.

Just because it is a small room doesn’t mean it can’t be colourful.

This was a collaboration with Command.
